Recent studies have shown that more than half of Americans don’t use all their time off. And 52% of Americans admit to working during their “time off”.
On Saturday, I was blessed to attend a men’s retreat for an amazingly impactful men’s discipleship ministry that I have been part of for the last 9 years – Fellowship in Discipleship #FinD. There were MANY impactful messages I took away from our speaker – Pastor Trey Little – and it was great to reconnect with so many friends and servant leaders.
But I think the main benefit of the day for me was just taking TIME TO BE STILL. Having time in a beautiful setting allowed me to calm my mind, slow the spinning wheels seemingly always turning in my head and reduce the stress of the typical daily grind. I now feel rested and recharged for the week ahead!
Think about the last time you took a day, or an hour or even 10 minutes to just “be still”. I am truly convinced taking such time can be beneficial in every facet of our lives – including our work lives.
